Frequently Asked Questions

Ordering, certification, the translation itself and privacy.

Ordering

How do I order a translation?

Upload clear scans or photos of every page on our quote page, choose the languages, the document type and the certification level. Standard documents in many languages are priced instantly; others receive a written quote by email.

Why did I get a quote instead of a price?

Contracts, court bundles, long or unusual documents and some language pairs need a quick review before they can be priced fairly. Your files have been received and the quote arrives by email, usually within 2-3 hours during business hours.

How much does it cost?

Certified prices depend on the language and the document and are shown when you upload. Professional (non-certified) translation starts at $55 per page.

Can I phone you?

We work by email so that every instruction is in writing. Email [email protected] or use the quote page.

Certification

What is a certified translation?

A translation made and certified by a NAATI certified translator, for documents you will submit to a court, tribunal, government agency, employer or institution.

What is a professional (non-certified) translation?

A complete, careful translation without a NAATI translator’s certification. It suits business, marketing and reference documents, and reviewing contracts or orders before you get advice. Company certification by Language Masters Pty Ltd is available on request for added assurance of accuracy (quoted separately). If a court or agency will receive the translation, choose certified.

Will a court or agency accept my translation?

Each court, tribunal and agency sets its own requirements. Please check with the body you are submitting to, or your lawyer, before you order.

Can the translator provide an affidavit?

Translator affidavits are quoted separately, where available. Mention it when you submit your documents and we will confirm before you pay.

The translation

Is the whole document translated?

We translate the pages you upload, in full. If you only need some pages of a long document, say which ones in your enquiry.

Can you change a name or fix a mistake in my original document?

No. A translation must reflect the source document. Name spellings follow the document; tell us the spellings in your passport and the translator will consider them, but cannot change what the document says.

How is the translation delivered?

By email, as a PDF. The delivery time for each option is shown on the price screen.

Do you give legal advice?

No. We translate what your documents say. For advice about their legal effect, please speak to a lawyer.

Privacy

Is my document kept confidential?

Yes. Files are uploaded over an encrypted connection and handled confidentially. See our privacy policy for details.

Need a Legal Document Translated?
