English translations of Ukrainian court, civil status and notarial documents, and Australian documents translated into Ukrainian.
In Ukraine, civil cases are heard by local general courts, most of them district courts (районні суди), with appeals to the courts of appeal (апеляційні суди) and the Supreme Court (Верховний Суд). Civil status is registered by the state civil registration offices (органи державної реєстрації актів цивільного стану).
Many people hold a mix of documents: older ones issued in Russian during the Soviet period, newer ones in Ukrainian, and duplicates reissued in Ukrainian to replace lost originals. Names may be spelled differently on each, because Russian and Ukrainian forms differ (Oleksandr and Aleksandr). Each document is translated from the language it is written in; send your passport so the translator can take its spelling into account. Ukraine has its own official transliteration standard, and a passport copy shows which spelling you use.
Ukrainian uses letters not found in Russian, such as і, ї, є and ґ, and a misread letter changes a name. Register extracts are generated from an electronic database and carry QR codes, registration numbers and electronic verification details, all reproduced in the translation. Courts are sometimes moved or renamed, so the court named on a decision is translated as printed.
Where a document has been replaced because the original was lost or destroyed, the replacement may say it is a duplicate (дублікат) or a repeated issue (повторне); the translation keeps that wording.
We translate Australian documents into Ukrainian: powers of attorney, divorce orders, statutory declarations, police checks and company documents. Ukrainian authorities usually want an apostille as well, so check with them first.
Register extracts printed from the electronic system can usually be checked online with the code shown on the page, so upload a scan or PDF in which the code is sharp. If a certificate has an apostille on a separate sheet, or an electronic apostille with a QR code, include it, as it is translated too. Older Soviet birth certificates are small booklets printed in both Russian and Ukrainian; scan both inside pages so each language entry is captured.
We translate what your documents say. We do not advise on their legal effect, and we cannot confirm whether a particular court or agency will accept them. Please check requirements with the receiving body or your lawyer.
